B is for Blue

Over the last couple of weeks a lot of blue has gone up around the house.  I wanted grays, blues, tans and whites and so far everything is coming together nicely.  The color for the family room and the kitchen is Gray Morning by Behr.  After my llittle paint misstep in the kitchen the first time around I'm so happy that this color is just what I was picturing- a grayish blue.  Its very calming and serene.  Just what we need around here.

There are so many things wrong with these pictures but just try to ignore that and focus on the pretty house : )

Obviously these wires will be hidden.  Thats the next step.  I'm just happy the tv is off the floor where its been for the past month and a half.

I think I've finally decided on the rest of the furniture for the living room.  I found shelves for the back wall, side tables and a coffee table.  I still haven't been able to find a cabinet to hold our cable box etc but hopefully I can find that somewhere around here.

Quick updates on the rest of the progress we've been making:

The dining room paint is complete and the room is cleaned out.  Too bad I haven't made a final decision on any of the furniture for this room yet.  I know the chairs and light fixture I want but I keep switching back and forth with the table.

The "formal" living room.  I ran out of paint halfway through so obviously this is my next project to complete.  I think I finally have a direction as to where this room is going and I'm pretty final on my choices for this room too.  One day faaaarrr down the road when its done I think its going to be one of my favorites.

Finally, the bathroom.  We just added a few more accessories (rug, garbage can, diffuser and tissue holder).  Not too much left for this room.  Just something for the walls and then it will be complete.

Beautiful Boys

I finally got back down to the hospital today to visit the babies.  I have been waiting all week to look at their beautiful little faces again.  They are doing great and making progress.  I could just sit there all day looking at their teeny tiny perfect features.  Its fun to imagine what they will be like a couple of months or even years from now.  One day soon these little itty bitty boys will be wrestling and playing with their cousins and having fun.  More importantly, one day very soon they will be home with their mommy and daddy where they belong : )

I was lucky enough (or pushy enough) to go down to the NICU with the first group this afternoon.  I got to watch Coby meet his new brothers for the first time.  I always loved that moment with my own kids and it was just as fun to watch with my nephew.  Coby managed to look amazed and a little scared at the same time. . . all while pretending he was too cool for it all.  I could tell just by looking at his face that he loved them and knew this was an important moment.

After Coby was done visiting with his brothers I went back and hung out with him in the room while my parents visited the boys.  I was lucky enough to go back to the NICU one more time before I left.  I was so happy to see the boys out and hanging out with my brother and Jaclyn.  Everyone just looked so happy and peaceful.

First Day of School

Rocky had his first day of preschool on Wednesday, January 4th.  He goes three afternoons a week (M,W,F) from 12:30 to 3:00.  The school is about a mile from our house which makes it super convenient for me.  So far I've been dropping Rocky off and then coming back and putting Chase down for a quick nap.  Its nice to have a little time to catch up pictures, painting and chores.  Rocky seems to be enjoying himself and he's loving being with other kids his age during the day.

We decided to take his going to school picture inside this time since it was about 20 degrees out that day.

Chase decided he wanted in too.

The Twins Are Here!!

Much to everyone's surprise our long awaited identical twin nephews were born on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.  At about 7 weeks premature they are teeny tiny but are doing amazingly well.  They are so, SO cute and I feel so honored that I was able to go to the NICU last night to see them.  Don't let the wires and tubes scare you (Grandma!).  Its all normal preemie stuff and Austin is already off of his air.  These boys are doing great!!

It was dark in the NICU and I didn't want to use my flash because of the babies.  They are hard to get a shot of in their isolettes but you get the idea. So tiny and so perfect in every way.

Austin Robert (my godson!).  The bigger twin at 4lbs 8.8oz and 16.75" long.

Nico Giovanni.  3 lbs. 14oz and 16.75" long.  He was just relaxing with his hand behind his head, sprawled out and sleeping with his mouth open.  He must be happy to have some space to stretch out!

Nico's head is the size of my brother's fist!

I can't wait to go see them again!

A is for. . .

I came across a couple of people doing an ABC photo challenge.  I thought I would attempt to do this.  Every week you do a letter of the alphabet (and go through the whole alphabet twice for the year) and at least one picture that goes with it.  I happen to have two things for A this week but my other "A" will wait for the next post.

A is for accessories (because we all know the accessories make the outfit!)

I know I'm a *little* biased but she may be the cutest babies I have ever seen.

Christmas Day

A few pictures of Grayson in her amazing Christmas dress.  My mom bought it for her when we *thought* she was a girl.  The size ended up being perfect and she looked so so sweet in it.

A few of the contestants in the ugly sweater contest.  Don't get me started.  I'm a little bitter about tying for third place.  If you saw how ugly my sweater was you would understand.

Another Christmas over, its so hard to believe its all said and done already!

Christmas Morning

Christmas day is very busy for us.  We open presents at home, scramble to get everyone ready and looking good, go to brunch at my mom's, head to Michael's mom's house and then over to our final stop at Michael's aunt's house.  By the time the day is over we are usually tired, crabby and the car is so loaded down that we don't even have a spare inch to stretch out.  I will say that the crabby part was kept to a minimum for the most part.  The boys were so excited about presents and their new toys that they were pretty happy for most of the day.  Chasey even fell asleep around 5:30 on Christmas day and slept through dinner and the rest of the presents.  Rocky made me put together about 800 Legos and Grayson was happy to be passed around from person to person.  Overall a very good day and the boys had a blast.

Christmas morning at our house.  So happy we got to move in to the new house for the holidays.

How cute are they?  Christmas with an almost 4yr old, a 2 yr old and a 3 month old is fun.  They get so excited!

Have you seen enough pictures of my kids opening presents yet??
