Day 59- Boy Genius

First I just want to say, thank God its the last day of February!! Even though March can be a nasty month, I always feel like spring is so much closer once February is over.  Almost there.

Now on to what my little smarty pants was doing this morning.  I think I have said before how much R loves to read, write letters and spell words.  He can now spell : Rocco, Mommy, Daddy, Chase, Nona, Lucas, Papa, Poppy, Coby, apples, boots, elmo, guitar, queen, hat, bus, dog, and zoo.  I think there are a few more in there but those are the ones I know off the top of my head.  Have I mentioned that he just turned 3 in Januray?!  His memory amazes me. I never thought my 3 year old would be spelling words and sounding out words that he didn't know.  I will admit that I have worked with him (i'm a former first grade teacher, so you can't blame me!) but I haven't worked with him that much.  He just loves to learn and truly enjoys it.  I hope he stays like this forever because it will make the school years that much easier!

Here is what I found on my floor this morning.  He used the letters from his ABC puzzle to spell these words.

Sorry if this came off as bragging, there are probably tons of three year olds out there that can spell lots of words but he makes us proud.  It always feels good when your kid can do something well because there are days when they do some very NOT smart things.  Hold on to what you can right?
